Karla Pearce has recently moved to the city of Kamloops BC, where she has opened her gallery/ studio the Karla Pearce Art Gallery. Before that Pearce lived in Castlegar where she was the owner of the Creative Edge Gallery.  Pearce has been been teaching painting and drawing since 1996 in the Kootenays and most recently in her Kamloops studio.She studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of Calgary. Her main passion is painting but she also balances it with writing, producing and publishing. Karla works a great deal with children and local schools.

As a professional artist Karla Pearce uses her unique perspective to share her knowledge of art with individuals, students and the community as a whole.
